Football Season Entertaining {build your own nachos bar}

Fall is officially here and with the transition of seasons comes a new reason to entertain. And that reason, my friends, is football season. Whether you’re a football fan or not I am sure we can all agree that football food is some of the best. So while I love a good game, my main focus is on what I can cook that’s both simple and tasty to keep everyone, including myself, happy.

A go-to for any party is some sort of dish that can be prepped in advance and people can sort of help themselves. More often than not that’s some kind of cheese and charcuterie board but I took a similar concept when designing my “build your own nachos bar” and I find it to be  relatively effortless, yet people pleasing way to entertain guests.

So to create a build  your own nachos bar for your next party here’s how to get started.

What You’ll Need

Foil or Parchment Paper – I like to have everyone build their nachos on some sort of oven safe disposable paper so it’s easy to pop in the oven to melt the cheese  + serve + clean up!

Chips – This is a personal preference here, buy whatever chips you like or are on sale. I typically prefer blue corn but the little yellow corn rounds caught my eye so I went with em’.

Assorted Toppings – This is where the fun part comes in! I love to provide a variety of toppings and let guests choose what they want on their nachos.

Some of my favorite toppings include:

  • Ground Beef seasoned with fajita seasoning
  • Sauteed Peppers + Onions
  • Black Beans
  • Pickled Jalapenos
  • Guacamole
  • Black Olives
  • Sour Cream
  • Romaine Lettuce
  • Roma Tomatoes or Salsa
  • Cilantro
  • Lime
  • Cheese or Queso (if you don’t want to throw your nachos in the oven just top with some warm queso!

but you can absolutely put out whatever you enjoy!

Bowls – Once your ingredients are prepped lay them out in cute little bowls and let the nacho building begin!

I like to put toppings such as the beef, beans, peppers and onions on before the chips go into the oven and then add the romaine, cilantro, lime, olives, sour cream, tomatoes and guac after they come out nice and warm and bubbly!

So there you have it! My favorite way to entertain come football season just add a pitcher of jalapeno margaritas and a cooler full of beer and you’re all set!
